The arms have been reinforced. The inimitable yet inconspicuous nicks, scratches, and tiny chips of wear on the original gilt give them a venerable vibe (see closeup images). The gilt is worn the most on the heads of the armrests (see images). They were recently reupholstered with fabrics of the highest quality and durability to uphold the excellence of the chairs. Although luxurious, the fabrics are not performance fabrics. Both chairs have a total weight of 90 lbs. less
