Often times some of the multi-colored slag glass is styled after Murano glass. The quadruple plated silver basket is from the late 1880's. The basket has detailed leaves & hanging fruit and is footed. In the 1800's, Brides often carried these during their wedding ceremony & then placed the basket on a table at the wedding reception for her bouquet to be displayed. This piece makes a stunning presentation. The manufacturer is believed to have been Pairpoint Mfg. Co. of New Bedford, Mass. However, there is no Makers Mark.
