Rare early rustic cast iron garden chair in the "twig"/ faux bois tradition, circa 1870. Back, seat and sides are made up of a climbing branch and leaf design. Referred to as the "cottage" chair in the 1868 Fiske catalogue (cf Barbara Israel p.173 fig.4.15).
Chair is Petite. Small in scale. Beautiful work as garden sculpture. Seat height is estimated and can measure upon request.
