These were typically used for … Read more This Really is a Great Looking Antique American Primitive Stoneware Jug. Circa Late 19th Century. These were typically used for Liquids - Spring Water - Ciders - Hard Cider and Other Spirits. It has an Exceptionally Beautiful - Large Cobalt Blue Hand Decorated Stylized Floral Design on the Front on a Wonderful Salt Glaze Exterior. It is Embossed with the Number 2 Denoting its 2 Gallon Liquid Storage Capacity. It is Signed by the Well Documented American Massachusetts Stoneware Maker Frank. B. Norton - Embossed F. B. NORTON & CO. WORCESTER, MASS. It is in Very Good Original Condition with No Cracks - No Repairs - Displays Beautifully. It has 1 Chip at the Spout Area but This is Quite Common with This Type of Utilitarian Stoneware Jug. It also has a couple Minor Kiln glaze imperfections - spots around the Base - Outer Perimeter but these are Normal and would have Occurred in the Making.
It Measures 13 1/2 inches Tall x 9 inches Wide - Long.
