John Freimarck (American, born 1942) is an American ceramist residing in Manquin, Virginia and known for his high-fired functional salt-glazed stoneware pottery (lidded boxes, dinnerware, decorative wares). With a nod to Japanese and Chinese calligraphers, he embellishes his glazed surfaces with brush-applied butterflies, fruit, flowers, leaves, and other images drawn from nature.
Offered is a large 14.5" platter (from a collection he did in the late 1970s, early 1980s) that can be used for serving cocktail snacks or meals, or displayed as art on a shelf or wall. It is 1.5" in depth / height.
