A museum quality 19th century Chinese Qing dynasty Huanghuali ( Dalbergia odorifera rosewood) and Huali (2/3 desk top made by … Read more A museum quality 19th century Chinese Qing dynasty Huanghuali ( Dalbergia odorifera rosewood) and Huali (2/3 desk top made by Huali, see photo number 7) pedestal writing desk with a 19th century huanghuali wood chair set. The rectangle desk top with three panel drawers with the original brass pull handles. The “cracked ice” pattern in the footrest for this desk was a popular pattern during the Qing dynasty . The huanghuali chair with hand carved “shou” on (longevity) back panel . In the photos the chair color you can see is darker than the desk , That’s normal in the Huanghuali wood when you use different parts of the tree or not the same Huanghuali tree to make furniture. At the Portland Art Museum Oregano has a very similar Huanghuali desk like this one , please see the last picture. Measurement of the desk: 48” W x 26 1/2” D x 32” H.
