French fireplace clock from around 1840-1860.

The housing is made of ebonized wood with brass thread intarsia.
On the front we see the white dial behind glass with black Roman digits and gilded bezel. The beautiful original pointers in arrow shape are also gilded.

In the same design we also see the hands of the two -part calendar. The day of the week can be read on the left and the day of the month on the right.

On the back there is a wooden flap that protects the work from dust. If we open the flap, we see the high-quality French 14-day pendulum work with a castle pane and pendulum spring suspension.
The regulation takes place via a knurled screw that moves the right -angled suspension of the pendulum in height using a snail -shaped brass plate. An extraordinary and well thought -out system.
The calendar is switched over the impact.

Condition:
Cleaned condition. The work and the calendar were completely broken down and cleaned from scratch. The clock runs reliably and accurately. See less
