This mid-century … Read more A French pair of Louis XVI style carved wood and upholstered fauteuil chairs from the mid 20th century. This mid-century pair of armchairs from France each feature oval-shaped upholstered backs within a wood frame accentuated with spiraled ribbon carved trim and bow crest at top. The arms have manchette pads and terminate into volute carved knuckles. The front seat rail has a subtle bow shape, and carved rosettes adorn each corner above the legs at knees. The chairs are raised upon cylindrical fluted legs which taper gently towards their feet. The current fabric needs refreshing; the perfect opportunity to make these your own. These Louis XVI style fauteuils will make a beautiful and inviting seating arrangement within any room of your home or office.
