It's ironstone and it's heavy … Read more Tea Leaf was the everyday workhorse dish for the 19th and early 20th century household. It's ironstone and it's heavy and meant to last. This one has lasted beautifully. It is a large oval platter with the tea leaf motif in the center and the same copper lustre rim around the border. It has a nice deep reservoir for containing juices from whatever is being served. Even though ironstone was a staple in the American household, most of it was imported from England. This one was made by Anthony Shaw & Sons, England. The bottom also says "Warranted," and "Opaque Stone China." Tea Leaf is such a classic pattern because it will go with any table setting and it is so functional. See less
