Late 19th to Early 20th Century, this was undoubtedly inspired by Empire military furnishings. Genuine leather seat, arms and back that are adorned with very subtle markings. Beautiful Greek key pattern on the arms. Majestic lions' heads grace the tops of the cast iron arms and legs, "guarding the throne". Undoubtedly its provenance would tell a wonderful story!

The iron is solid through, this chair is VERY heavy. In excellent antique condition, see photos. Very slight marks here and there; the seat has a minute impression, see last photo. Less than 1/2 a centimeter long.

The renowned Bellechasse 29 Galerie in Paris has the sister chair to this currently in their collection priced at 12,000 Euro. I would imagine these are 2 of a kind, so unique and rare! See less
