The wood is quarter-sawn oak, the more desirable cut for turn-of-the-century oak furniture. The writing surface has a curved edge, the legs are also curved, and there is beading trim all around. The chair space is 19 1/2" wide. The clearance from the floor to the bottom of the center drawer is 23 1/2". There are cubby hole spaces on both sides with raised panel fronts, and storage space is 9 1/2" x 8 1/2" and 12" tall. The center drawer interior space is 18 1/4" x 9 1/2" x 2 1/2" deep. The small drawer interior space is 6 1/2" x 8" x 4" deep. See less
