The inner rim is decorated with a … Read more Chinese porcelain auspicious characters Qilin bowl, white glazed exterior, interior and inset base. The inner rim is decorated with a wide, yellow-glazed band covered with a dense lattice of pink and green, curving vines in light relief. Four turquoise medallions with auspicious, red, Chinese characters in seal script are quartered on the band, alternating with groups of three polychrome floral medallions. The white glazed band on the wall below is covered in large pattern, rusty wire and silver wire craquelure. The interior bottom has a finely drawn circular cartouche of a Qilin in a rock garden amid Taoist flames, surrounded by a blue, tessellated band with eight plum blossom medallions. The exterior of the vase depicts four groups of frolicking Chinese children with their guardians in a fenced garden landscape of palm trees, scholar's rocks, grasses and a rock crab, with stylized red clouds above. The finely carved traditional Chinese hongmu circular stand is included. The inset base is also covered in large pattern, rusty wire and silver wire craquelure, and has a blue, six character, Qianlong reign mark in Zhuanshu script glazed to its center. Circa early 20th century, no later than mid century.
