The inner rim … Read more Chinese porcelain auspicious characters bowl, imperial yellow and turquoise glazed interior, white glazed exterior and inset base. The inner rim is decorated with a narrow band in an imperial yellow glaze covered with a small pattern, iron wire craquelure, and with 32, unique, red, Shou characters. The inner body of the bowl is in a turquoise glaze covered with a small pattern, iron wire craquelure, and a finely detailed painting of a scholar's table and items, surrounded by 11 Buddhist symbols and Taoist fruits and plants. The exterior of the bowl is decorated with five, finely drawn, red bats, forming the rebus of Wu Fu Min Len, wishes for the five blessings of health, wealth, long life, love of virtue and a peaceful death.
A blue six character Yongzheng Yuzhi reign mark within double blue circles is glazed to the inset base. The finely carved, traditional Chinese hongmu plate stand is included. Circa early 20th century no later than mid century.
