A late 19th-century set of exceptionally high quality Dresden plates that were entirely and skillfully hand painted with exuberant floral … Read more A late 19th-century set of exceptionally high quality Dresden plates that were entirely and skillfully hand painted with exuberant floral renderings in fine detail, further enriched with high karat gilding over raised intricate accents that were meticulously hand-applied by piping clay, (much like piping frosting on cake), and having reticulated motifs decorating the rim. These plates were kiln fired multiple times in order to achieve their beauty, risking damage at each firing, and without doubt, many were discarded in the pursuit of successful pieces such as these. Each bearing the marks of Richard Klemm, in remarkably good condition, circa 1880s. Due to their hand made nature, each plate has a unique painted floral pattern, making them even more attractive.
