Comfortable and cozy French armchair in Country Chic style; it has soft and cozy silhouettes with excellent upholstery, perfect for daily use; the frame is very sturdy and solid so the armchair is heavy, which is why it has been equipped with four elegant feet made of solid cast brass; the colorful and exceptional fabric that covers the armchair is not printed, but is a special fabric of cotton threads woven by artisans who used a handloom with which they were able to create the designs, geometric patterns and an incredible array of variations where the only limitation was their inventiveness. The backrest is wide, the seat wide and deep, and the practical armrests are at the right height for perfect relaxation; there is a pocket on the right side for storing newspapers or magazines. The armchair was made between 1970 and 1973 by an artisan workshop located in Usson du Poitou, a small town in the region of New Aquitaine (France), the locality since the early 1800s has always been a landmark in the furniture industry in France and has always been distinguished for its excellence, quality and innovation; The area is home to the workshops of Maison Duvivier, one of the most famous furniture companies in all of France. The Country style originated in France in the 1600s when Louis XIV, driven by a desire to make France an example of the style, had Versailles renovated. The style he used became popular in Provence, where simple country homes began to be contaminated with the refined influences from the capital. From the French country style, the English country style, better known as classic country, was defined and spread to England. American country style undergoes the influences of English and French country style after the massive colonization of settlers in the New World. Our armchair is less rustic and rough than the pure country style, in fact, it was created in the Country Chic style. Country Chic is a style of furniture that mixes rustic and modern elements, it gets its name from influences from charming events held in the country with a romantic and elegant touch. What is striking is the ability to fuse tradition and modernity in objects that tell of a connection to roots and one's own style. In the American setups that so populate our imagination, Country Style is often associated with the cowboy lifestyle, boots with spurs, and wide-brimmed hats, but thanks to Country Chic the rustic style has evolved and adapted to the times no longer exclusive to country homes, but a way of furnishing tastefully even in apartments in the middle of urban centers, because it manages to find the right balance point between the rustic and chic souls of this style. The armchair is in good condition. Measures width cm.83, depth cm.80, height cm.95, seat cm.46. For all our shipments we use special packaging materials (wooden crates, styrofoam, etc.) for maximum protection and safety of the objects. See less
