In the center of each plate there is a detailed family coat of arms with wings and a star on the crest, variety of heraldic symbols on the shield and a banner with the moto: "RARATUS NON NUNONAM"
Every symbol of course has a meaning. Additional research may lead to interesting discoveries and eventually decipher and even connect the coat of arms to a family or institution
High quality Chinese export porcelain porcelain made by special order for particular noble, gentry or wealthy British clients, a common tradition in the period
The border of the plate is decorated with three patterned ribbons and gilt
Very exquisite artistic work with great details
China, Qing dynasty, Jiaqing reign period ca. 1796-1820
