A very unusual round Chinese bowl that is hand decorated throughout with flowers, carp fish and scroll work in dark blue against an off white / celadon glazed background.
The edges of the bowl are indented and the base with a single and unusual ruffle skirt above the foot area. The base has another concentric ring level with the foot inside the outer ring - see photo.
The foot area is highly decorated with stylised wave work, a six character 'Ming' seal/signature and inner rim with two concentric blue circles.
This bowl is based on an earlier Chinese design, Ming and is early/mid 20th. Century at the latest.
Base /foot smooth to the touch.
A most unusual bowl that could be used or displayed - an interesting piece to observe.
