Its flattened globular shape tapers to a short oval foot of red glass. A red overlay in designs of floral elements including an orchid and fish decorates both sides. Knife marks from carving are quite evident. Its neck is encased in silver, not because of imperfection but it is the way for the cap to stay on. After trying different caps, I find this antique red German glass bead best compliments the bottle and it is specially fabricated to hold the specially made cap in place. The stopper is cork and the spoon silver.
