Nine total: an assembled set comprised of a group of four green glazed majolica dessert plates with maker’s mark: Faiencerie … Read more Nine total: an assembled set comprised of a group of four green glazed majolica dessert plates with maker’s mark: Faiencerie de Gien, the pattern a composition of detailed leaves, ferns and blossoms, with smaller leaves superimposed in low relief. Along with an unusual combined set of petal edge French faience light emerald green French plates and a larger and deeper green dish from a different ceramics manufactory. All have an unusual petal form rim encircling decoration of grape leaves and vines in the center. The patterns are nearly exact copies, yet with subtle differences of texture and more noticeably color. All late 19th century, good antique condition, light wear from age and use. Petal plates are in good condition, with light wear, marked with an impressed “3” on the back, larger dish marked “Vandrevange” (from the northeast near the German border) and having a repair at the rim, and a chip to the inner foot (not visible from the outside).
