The Murano glass artist used small glass rods and fused them on the top of the vase in a style seen on Steuben glass wares. From the base to almost three quarters of the vase, small yellow threads were fused to the glass body and the top quarter royal blue threads were used to accentuate the angles of the handkerchief form. A bold half inch wide glass were used as an overhead handle. The vase is unsigned, but the influence from Carder's Steuben design is clearly visible. However, the use of melting glass rods on to clear glass is an art form perfected by glass artists of Murano, Venice Italy. See less
