Excellent Pre-Owned Condition.
We recently relocated from Kansas and are downsizing pieces that do not make sense to keep. These cuties are part of a limited but unique collection of vintage green glassware that belonged to my mom. “Block Optic” is an eye catching pattern that Hocking Glass introduced in 1929. Named for its block design, this pattern has horizontal rings and vertical pillars molded into the glass forming three rows of blocks and a 20-point rayed star on the base bottom. These lovelies are made from uranium glass which under a UV black light emits a fluorescent glow and in normal light, it’s a beautiful clear, crisp green. What gives this piece its lovely green color is uranium glass mixed with iron oxide. Each measures 4¼” x 4¼” x 1¼” W/D/H; capacity 6 oz. together the set weighs 2 lbs. 10 oz.; medium is moulded pressed glass. In excellent condition with limited wear and random inclusions that are original to the manufacturer and typical of glassware of this era. For a collector of uranium Depression glass, these petite beauties might be a great add to that collection!
