The piece is … Read more Antique solid brass Ansonia kettle or firewood / kindling bucket / pail with heavy cast iron handle. The piece is dated Feb. 13 1866 on the base. The gleaming 'spun' body is round in shape with copper rivets that hold the handle brackets. Rolled rim, tapered sides with a convex hammered bottom. This is signed on the underside with patent mark as per photograph.
Can be used for storing coal, wood, kindling or purely for decorative or storage purposes for throws, blanket or even as a planter.
A lovely piece in near perfect condition.
