About the Artist: The artist known as PIEM (Pierre Georges Marie de Barrigue de Montvallon) came from a family descended from the nobility of the region of Aix en Provence . He was the son of Serge de Montvallon, director of the Maison de la Chimie, and Madeleine Champavere, he is the brother of Robert de Montvallon. Pierre describes: "I was the child rickety and redhead a family of Aix-en-Provence, the third in a family of five children, destined to live in the shadow of his older brothers so strong and brilliant”.
