About The Poster: Le Cornet, an artistic and literary society was founded in the late 1890s.
Its members, all male, called themselves “les Cornettistes”. They were notables, men of letters and artists who liked to share their knowledge and their humour around a good meal which inevitably ended with dessert by a "concert" of songs and declamations of poetry given by some of the guests, as was the practice for a very long time. Meal menus are often illustrated by guest artists.
