This is a … Read more Outstanding, large-scale vintage modernist ceramic sculpture in the form of an ikebana style vase with multiple compartments. This is a unique, artist-made studio piece. Standing on 3 extruded octagonal curving legs or tubes, the stoneware sculpture exhibits a wonderfully fluid organic motion and personality. The exterior has a matte finish with glazed interiors of the extruded tubes — for functional floral use. It displays well on all sides with each side having a very different presentation — truly a striking piece! Impressed on the underside is an unidentified maker’s chop mark. This piece dates from the late 20th century.

Condition is near perfect with no noticeable flaws. Jagged edges, tears, and holes in the piece are intentional and were present in the firing.
