.......really sharp looking 1950's custom lacquered mahogany chest with solid brass hardware designed by Edward Wormley for Dunbar Furniture........gorgeous two-tone … Read more .......really sharp looking 1950's custom lacquered mahogany chest with solid brass hardware designed by Edward Wormley for Dunbar Furniture........gorgeous two-tone finish that was a trademark Wormley/Dunbar feature during the period........lacquered mahogany on the front and sides of the case, and a large section of beautiful naturally finished mahogany on the top of the piece........you'll also notice that within the naturally finished portion, each end has a "triangle" piece that's inlaid with the grain running perpendicular to the rest of the top-----one of the many lovely details that really adds to the aesthetic value of the piece........the piece is wonderfully proportioned, with four wide drawers on the right side, and a single drawer on the left that sits above a nice cabinet........the cabinet contains a single adjustable solid wood shelf, and quite a bit of storage space.........the entire piece sits on a recessed ebonized base that has a lovely lacquer finish........this is the type of high end quality you expect of a Dunbar piece.......there is a bit of finish wear/loss on the top, as shown in the photos----you'll also see a little bit of fading to the lacquer in a couple areas on the front of the piece........the piece presents beautifully, and is rock solid.......the piece is not signed, so I am providing a link below to an auction result that verifies the design as Dunbar/Wormley....
