The pattern 1000 butterflies is fairly rare in Chinese export porcelain. The butterfly symbolizes the warmth of summer and the harvest. I see some that is early and mid 19th century. Poorly painted examples show up again about 1920. These make great coasters. Left out they still look wonderful when they are not being used. See less
