Handcarved and painted pine. A wonderfully modern design for an antique British Colonial piece. Sculpture can be displayed table top or hung on a wall. The back is flat with an attached steel hanging plate. My guess is that this modification was made later. The cut and steel bracket is quite old so it's likely been this way for a few generations. Previous owner believed it may have been used as an advertising display. Minor cracks and imperfections that only add character and awesomeness!

The camel has been revered and respected by many cultures throughout the ages. Used as a sacred animal for centuries, it can carry any load because of its strong back and patient disposition. The camel has been used as a symbol of strength, endurance, wisdom, wealth, journey, persistence, hope, abundance, and pilgrimage. All good things! See less
