Surveying - civil engineering or architectural transit surveyor tool in box with leather strap (there are holes for a hard handle (?) to be put on the top of the wooden box. The pointed spikes for securing the legs to the ground can be pulled back for safety in carrying the tripod.
Size of the tripod when folded is 31" long x 4" diam
Size of the wood box is 19 3/4"wide x 7 1/2 deep x 10 1/4" high (it rests on 4 small corner circles) less
