val saint lambert is a glass company whose head office is located in the former abbey of seraing, province of liège, belgium. The company has been operating since 1826. Val st lambert is the official supplier of king albert ii of belgium. It is characterized by a quality production due to the clarity of its glass.
the abbaye du val-saint-lambert was owned by the cistercian monks, followers of the rule of st. Benedict.1 the monastery was abandoned during the french revolution. In 1825, jean-françois deneef settled in val saint-lambert with the intention of creating a glass factory whose quality would surpass that of the neighboring baccarat.
val saint-lambert was founded by the chemist m. Kemlin, who was previously employed in vonêche in the ardennes. He soon achieved several medals due to the clarity of his glass pieces. Val saint lambert is known for its art nouveau and art deco style in the pieces. This piece has an attribution mark,
