A beautiful antique late 19th-century American Victorian rocking chair executed in the romantic Rococo Revival style. This rocker features a tall, elegantly curved balloon back topped with a rich, hand-carved floral and leaf crest rail carved directly into the solid walnut frame.
The chair is beautifully upholstered in a durable, heavy-weight black woven tapestry fabric blooming with a dense, colorful pattern of muted pink roses, green foliage, and white accent florals. Designed with low, sweeping padded armrests, it sits comfortably on its original curved wooden rockers. Unmarked and beautifully preserved, this classic rocking chair balances historical character with functional comfort, making it a stellar addition to a cozy nursery, parlor, or living area.

The walnut frame is exceptionally sturdy and free of wobbles or structural separation. The beautiful black floral tapestry fabric is clean, completely stable, and shows no fraying, fading, or loose threads. The wood finish shows minor, age-appropriate surface scuffs and light wear that underscores its genuine 19th-century history. less
