Riedel is an Austrian Modernist sculptural swirl design measuring 8 inches long, combining biomorphic shaping with deeply carved crescent cuts and sweeping wave contours. The asymmetrical oval silhouette is formed from heavy clear crystal with thick walls, a recessed basin, polished rim, and substantial rounded base.

Broad curving cuts overlap through the body, producing strong optical refraction and emphasizing the bowl's organic abstraction from multiple viewing angles. The underside bears the full C. J. RIEDEL signature together with a separate C.J.R. monogram.

Dating to the Mid-Century period, circa 1950s–1960s, the bowl reflects a refined modernist vocabulary through its freeform shape, polished surfaces, and sculptural handling of mass and negative space.

Functional as a centerpiece bowl, it also reads as a substantial modernist art-glass object.
