Antique Louis XIII style pair of oak side chairs originally from Belgium and dating from the late 19th century.
The chairs feature classic barley twist legs and stretchers with square block joints and turned elements, characteristic of the Louis XIII revival style. The back rest is adorned with carved lion heads, symbolizing strength, power, courage, authority, nobility and protection.
The chairs retain their original floral rose buds motif tapestry upholstery, with the traditional antique brass nailheads trim along the seat and back rest.
