The body is molded as a bundle of bamboo, with vertical canes, pronounced joints, and fine incised lines that give the surface convincing, tactile depth. The glaze moves from honey and tawny ochre to deeper umber in the grooves, mimicking sun-bleached stalks. A broad banana-style leaf in luminous jade green wraps diagonally around the middle, its feathery, split veining pressed crisply into the clay and highlighted with darker green where the glaze pools. The lid continues the bamboo pattern, crowned with a small green leaf and a sculpted twig handle whose knotted, branching form feels hand-modeled and charmingly irregular. The side handles echo the same woody, naturalistic language, tapering to pointed tips for a lively, slightly Orientalist profile. The glaze is glossy and rich, with the saturated, painterly color and relief detail that make majolica so collectible.
