1890s Haviland Limoges Porcelain Creamer & Lidded Sugar Bowl Set - 2 Pieces
Chairish Description
Elevate your tabletop curation with this exceptional two-piece antique French porcelain creamer and lidded sugar bowl set crafted by Haviland & Co. of Limoges, France. Dating precisely between 1888 and 1896, this exquisite late Victorian era set perfectly captures the delicate romance of late 19th-century French country design.
The porcelain bodies feature a classic, elegant blank distinguished by soft, lobed paneling and gently scalloped rims. Each piece is beautifully hand-decorated with trailing botanical sprigs of wild pink and lavender daisies nestled among soft foliage. The stylized, organic handles and the sugar bowl's matching sculptural finial are heavily accented with a rich, burnished gold gilt application that provides a striking contrast against the luminous, fine white porcelain ground.
The underside of each piece proudly bears the complete, authentic dual-stamp configuration: the green underglaze manufacturing stamp (H&Co over L) and the arched, brick-red overglaze decorator stamp, confirming this set was entirely fabricated and painted in-house at the Haviland studios. A pristine addition for dedicated Limoges collectors, holiday tablescapes, or a sophisticated coffee and tea service.
