Ebony and contrasting woods create a richly layered surface, while alternating wood bands along the sides add detail to its compact form. Brass hardware complements the warm wood tones, and the lid opens on original hinges to reveal a practical place for storing small keepsakes, jewelry, or desk essentials. Its polished decorative presence also makes it an appealing accent on a bedside table, bookshelf, or console. The carefully arranged inlay rewards a closer look from different angles.

Measuring 5.25 inches wide, 4.25 inches deep, and 2 inches high, the box is small enough to tuck into a vignette while offering useful storage. The intricate inlay brings color and pattern to the top, and the original brass clasp keeps the design functional. Its mid-20th-century character suits collected interiors, whether displayed alone or among other vintage objects.

The box is in very good vintage condition. The marquetry retains vibrant color and intricate detail; minor surface scuffs and slight edge wear are consistent with age. The original hinges and clasp appear functional. These signs of use are modest and do not detract from the box’s visual appeal or utility. See less
