The design is defined by its dramatic, sculptural base, showcasing Thonet's mastery of the steam-bending technique. Fluid, ribbon-like bentwood U shaped legs sweep gracefully outward from a turned central pedestal with a single pull out drawer in the center.

This dynamic interplay of organic shapes and straight lines showcases hallmarks of early modernism design.
