The generously proportioned rectangular top provides an excellent writing or working surface while showcasing the attractive natural grain and figuring of the mahogany. Two drawers are positioned across the front, providing useful concealed storage for stationery, correspondence and smaller personal items. Both retain their original brass handles, adding an attractive period detail and complementing the warm tones of the timber. The table is raised upon four slender tapered legs, creating a refined and beautifully balanced silhouette characteristic of elegant late 18th-century English furniture. Particularly appealing is the mahogany itself, displaying pronounced natural grain and attractive figuring throughout.
