This is … Read more An original two-page spread from the July 1961 issue of Playboy, professionally matted and framed in October 2026. This is the famous "Designs for Living" group portrait: six of the defining figures of American mid-century design, each photographed with a piece that helped make their name.

Pictured are George Nelson, designer of the famous bench and clocks that bear his name; Harry Bertoia in his Diamond chair; Edward Wormley and his “A” chair; Eero Saarinen of Womb Chair fame; Charles Eames, sitting on one of his molded plywood chairs; and Jens Risom, who brought Danish modern from his native Copenhagen to the United States.

This photograph has been custom framed by Indian King Framery of Keene, NH in a crisp black frame and purple mat that complements this unique image. The glass is premium museum quality and has almost no glare, so that it can function in a high light (and high potential glare) location, near a window, say. The blue, yellow, and orange upholstery against the grey studio backdrop still reads beautifully.
