The rectangular top provides a generous writing surface while maintaining the compact proportions that make the table particularly versatile. The rich mahogany displays attractive natural figuring and a warm, lustrous colour developed through age. The front incorporates two useful drawers, retaining their knob handles and providing discreet storage for writing materials and personal items. The drawer fronts and central section are beautifully enhanced with satinwood crossbanding, creating an elegant contrast against the deeper tones of the mahogany. The table is raised upon four slender tapered legs, giving the piece a light and sophisticated silhouette characteristic of late 18th-century English furniture. Presented in very good antique condition, with appropriate signs of age and use consistent with its 18th-century origin. An elegant and highly usable piece of Georgian furniture, suitable as a writing desk, library table, side table or sophisticated console within both period and contemporary interiors.
