The upper section is enclosed by a pair of glazed doors and fitted internally with three fully adjustable shelves, allowing the configuration to be adapted for books, porcelain, collectibles or objets d'art. The cabinet is complete with a key. Below the glazed section are two useful drawers providing additional concealed storage. The substantial lower section incorporates a pair of panelled doors opening to reveal a fixed internal shelf, creating further space for books and household items. The restrained Regency-style detailing complements the beautifully proportioned façade, while the substantial plinth base gives the bookcase a strong and sophisticated architectural presence. Particularly attractive is the mahogany itself, displaying pronounced natural grain and figuring throughout, with deep, warm colour and a mature patina that highlights the quality of the timber. Presented in very good antique condition, with appropriate signs of age and use consistent with its 19th-century origin. For easier transportation and installation, the bookcase separates into two principal sections. Standing approximately 217.5 cm high, this is an imposing yet elegant piece offering extensive display and concealed storage, ideally suited to a library, study, drawing room or distinguished contemporary interior.
