Early 20th C., in crisp, bright, colorful original condition. Very nice glaze and paint condition.

8" tall, 3" deep and 4.5" wide.

Nice artisan paintwork on the faces and collars, particularly the eyes - which are essential to great Staffordshire dogs.

Colorway flows from white to deep rose / soft orange, with gold, grey and black detailing.

Porcelain mold / cast is nicely textured across the body - which means it is of higher quality!

If you are fortunate enough to have Blenheim or Ruby Cavaliers (brown/red and/or white), then these may be for you!

In keeping with Aesop's fable, Fox and Crow's Motto is "Beware of False Flattery!" So, with each listing we offer a true confession about the item...

If you are familiar with our listings you know our collections begin and end with Staffordshire Spaniels.

Cavaliers are our family dogs, and we have these wonderful bits of British civility throughout our cottages - 18th, 19th and 20th C., in dozens of forms. They are glorious antiques, and a sure sign of welcome in a well-curated home.

This pair is interesting because we have never seen a colorway white like these - a mix of very fine painting with an orange wash that is fantastic.

The look is almost Fauvist or early Modernist as applied to the traditional Porcelain dog form - lovely and fascinating! See less
