Featuring elaborate coiffed hair, expressive features, and sculptural drapery, this distinctive figure has a theatrical, old-world presence.

The richly aged gilt surface displays areas of wear revealing a reddish ground consistent with traditional red bole gilding. This historic technique uses a clay-based preparation beneath gold leaf, creating depth and warmth in the finished surface. The contrast between the luminous gilding, reddish undertones, and darkened recesses beautifully accentuates the sculptural details. The gilt mirror retains its reflective surface, adding an intriguing touch of realism to this sculptural vanity figure

Marked ARP on the base, this decorative figure has a romantic, classical character suited to Baroque Revival, Hollywood Regency, and eclectic interiors. The mirror-holding pose makes it particularly striking displayed on a dressing table, mantel, library shelf, or among a curated collection of decorative arts.

A distinctive statement piece for collectors of gilt decorative objects and interiors inspired by European antiques. See less
