Each drawer retains its original turned knob handles, complementing the understated character of the satinwood. A raised gallery extends across the rear of the writing surface, adding architectural interest to the design while providing a practical border for books, papers and decorative objects. The desk is supported upon a substantial plinth base, giving the piece a strong and well-balanced appearance. A central kneehole provides comfortable working space while maintaining the symmetry of the surrounding drawer arrangement.
