The exterior is finely decorated with precise geometric engine turning, creating a sophisticated textured surface characteristic of the streamlined decorative aesthetic associated with the art deco period. A vacant cartouche provides an attractive focal point while remaining free from personalised engraving. The compact retains its original interior, adding to its authenticity and collectability. The push-button catch remains in good working order, allowing the case to open and close securely.

fully hallmarked for birmingham 1946, the piece bears the maker’s mark for randle brothers, whose mark was registered between 1934 and 1946. With a gross weight of approximately 93.8 grams, the compact has a pleasingly substantial quality. Presented in very good vintage condition with no noted damage or repairs. It remains free from presentation inscriptions or monograms and is clean and ready for use or display. Particularly appealing is the survival of its original fabric case, completing this attractive example of mid-20th-century british vanity silver.
