The lantern is constructed from real sheet brass with glazed panels and an elegant tapered form, complemented by an ornate cast iron wall bracket reproduced from the mould of an original period example. The combination creates the appearance of a traditional antique architectural lantern while offering the practicality of contemporary manufacture. The brass is intentionally left untreated, allowing it to naturally oxidise and develop an attractive aged patina when exposed to the elements. Alternatively, the original polished appearance can be preserved with an appropriate protective exterior coating. The lantern is supplied with glass panels, bulb holder and internal wiring, with the electrical cable routed through the cast iron bracket. Final connection and installation should be completed by a suitably qualified electrician. Bulb access is conveniently provided through the upper section of the lantern. A particularly attractive architectural light for a country house, period property, entranceway, porch, courtyard, garden wall or traditional commercial setting. Some assembly is required.
