The chestnut brown hide wraps a wood case with a hinged top, and the whole piece lifts on an iron stand cast to read as bamboo - a Campaign era conceit that keeps the box at hand height.

Open the lid and the interior takes letters, remotes, bar tools, or the hallway clutter that never has a home. At 24 inches wide and 10 deep it stands beside a sofa or inside an entry without claiming floor space.

Use it where a side table would go but a little concealment helps - the leather does the decorating and the box does the tidying. See less
