Brass dining chair for Chiavari, Italy, 1960s.
Graphic design by Chiavari.
Impressive Italian design, typical of the 1960s.
Solid brass frame with original red velvet seat and high back.
Made of solid brass with an antique-looking bronze finish and slender side struts topped with decorative pinnacle knobs.
The backrest features an elaborate shield-shaped medallion in the center, framed by baroque decorations and decorative curls, enhanced by a padded section.
The seat has a contoured shape and, along with the backrest insert, is upholstered in elegant dark red velvet.
The brass bears a trademark (visible in the photo) that the Italian artistic foundry CGR produced components and accessories in solid brass or bronze.
The wording "Extra Lusso" served to certify the quality of the metal alloy, the weight of the brass and the polished finish compared to the standard catalogue models of the time.
