This vintage pair of side tables is built from honey-toned rattan poles bent into square, cube-like frames, each with an airy diamond trellis filling the sides. Slender canes cross in a lattice of open diamonds, and every intersection is secured with a neat wrap of dark burgundy binding. The wraps add a rhythmic dotted accent against the pale golden poles at the corners, rails, and joints. Each top is a square pane of smoky, dark glass with a lightly textured surface, set within a slim rattan frame whose corners are cushioned with thicker burgundy lashings. A curved cane bracket sweeps beneath the top at the front, adding a gentle arc to the otherwise rectilinear form. Below, a lower shelf of closely spaced, parallel cane slats creates a second tier for books, baskets, or a stack of magazines, and the slim legs end in small, neat feet. The finish is a warm, glowing amber with subtle tonal variation across the poles, natural nodes, and a mellow, hand-rubbed sheen where years of use have burnished the surface. The open latticework keeps each table light and transparent, and the two are closely matched in scale, wrapping, and finish.
Place these tables flanking a sofa or daybed, beside lounge chairs, or at either side of a bed in a sunroom, lanai, or guest room. They also work side by side as a coffee table. They complement Mid-Century Modern, Boho, Coastal, Hollywood Regency, and Tropical interiors, especially with bold floral cushions, brass lamps, and lush greenery. To care for them, dust with a soft, dry cloth or a vacuum brush attachment, wipe the glass with a gentle glass cleaner applied to a cloth, and avoid harsh chemicals, standing moisture, and prolonged direct sunlight to protect the rattan and its wrapped joints. Each table measures approximately 24.25 inches (616 mm) wide, 24.25 inches (616 mm) deep, and 21.25 inches (540 mm) high. Offered in very good vintage condition, the pair has its original finish with a warm patina, minor scuffs and light edge wear, and is structurally sound with no visible repairs or significant damage.
