Originating from the Como region of Italy, this abstract piece is crafted from handmade cotton paper pulp (polpa di carta), a remarkable artisanal and artistic technique where plant matter becomes sculpture. The cellulose pulp has been pressed and worked to create geometric volumes and raised striations that beautifully catch the light. Its amber and earthy color, reminiscent of leather patina or fossilized bark, brings a raw warmth and a highly sought-after organic dimension. It's difficult to distinguish between landscape, still life, or pure artistic expression, and it is precisely this ambiguity that makes the work so captivating. An ideal studio piece for mid-century or contemporary interiors, or for cabinets of curiosities!

The piece is in excellent condition. It is carefully presented in a beautiful solid wood frame with pronounced grain, accompanied by a wide white mat that elegantly enhances the composition. A few minor cracks in the relief bear witness to the piece's history, without detracting from its charm or quality.
